The North Caribbean Conference (NCC) bids “hasta luego” to 575 campers who are headed to the Dominican Republic to make new friends, improve outdoor skills, minister to the neighboring community and be inspired during Inter-America’s fourth territory-wide Pathfinder Camporee.

The NCC Youth Director, Dr. Vincent A. David, who leads the largest contingent from the Caribbean Union Conference to the camporee, shared: “Our youth leaders understand what the mission is and we will do all we can to help our youth get a spiritual experience that will far exceed all the monies spent. They will value this for a lifetime.”

The Lineage of Champions camporee will focus on the Book of Ruth and so assist young people to reaffirm their identity, strengthen their leadership skills and commit to sharing the gospel in their communities. Dr. David believes that the camporee has come at the right time: “The Bible story of Ruth will help young people understand their purpose in life and seek to experience the transformation that God offers.”

The Inter-American Division (IAD) website (http://www.interamerica.org/) provides pertinent details of camporee activities: “The camporee will include music, performances on the life and travels of Ruth, a Bible Bowl, sports and recreational activities, opportunities to earn honors, community service, exhibits with new resources, and much more. A team of 300 security staff and trained volunteers will work in shifts every 24 hours to protect and to be available for any emergencies or issues that may arise.” Guest speakers will include Johnathan Tejel, Pathfinder Director of the Adventist World Church, and youth speaker, Yamileth Bazán, Vice President of Student Affairs at La Sierra University in California.
