Hello Brothers and Sisters. Happy Sabbath.

During this month of May, throughout Inter-America, we are carrying out programs and initiatives that seek to strengthen the physical, emotional and spiritual health of those around us. Included in our activities will be a week of health promotion and raising awareness of the problem of drug addiction.

As the people of God, our primary purpose is mission and this month as we conduct meetings of families in mission, have prayer sessions and are involved in other activities we pray that these will inspire us to refocus on the mission.

It is from this perspective that  I want to invite you to reflect on the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19. You will remember that the prophet fled into the desert overwhelmed by fear while he was persecuted and threatened with death, and it was at his worst moment that  God met him through a still, small voice.

Elijah seemed to be completely alone, but God was at his side. He was revived by the presence of God and the charge to return to the mission. Likewise, we too are called to renew our commitment to our mission of bringing hope and healing to a broken world.

Refocusing on the mission does not depend on our strength or ability, but on our willingness to open our eyes to Him to realize that He is by our side.

Let us move forward with renewed faith, trusting that the same God who guided Elijah and who cares for the universe, is the God who will guide us every step of the way.

Maranatha!
