With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of the beloved centenarian, Sister Theresa George-Dublin, affectionately known as “Mama,” mother of Sister Gerene Joseph, NCC Education Director. She departed this life on March 23, 2025. Born on October 23, 1922, in the beautiful Dominican landscape, Sister George-Dublin lived a life rich in faith and fervor, leaving a legacy through her family’s substantial contributions to Antigua and Barbuda.
After completing her education, Sister George-Dublin migrated from her quaint village of Delices to the bustling beauty of Roseau, where she began her career as a store clerk. In her twenties, she journeyed to Antigua, where she met and married the love of her life, the late Samuel Dublin, together fostering a loving legacy of eight wonderful children.

As a devoted disciple of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Sister George-Dublin attended the Cedar Grove Seventh-day Adventist Church with unwavering faith until 2020, when the pandemic paused public worship. Her steadfast commitment to the Seventh-day Adventist faith spanned more than 75 remarkable years.
In addition to nurturing her husband on the family farm, Sister George-Dublin’s greatest joy was cultivating a close-knit family, instilling in her children a deep love for the Lord, a respect for authority, a commitment to hard work, and the importance of education. Her influence shines brightly through her children and grandchildren, who are making meaningful contributions to the Antiguan society and beyond in fields such as law, education, health, aviation, accounting, and hospitality. Sister George-Dublin’s astonishing memory allowed her to recite many Bible verses, with Psalm 121 serving as a source of solace.
She found joy in singing her favorite hymn, “O Happy Day that Fixed My Choice,” and reciting her cherished poem, “The Village Blacksmith.” Mama attributed her longevity to her faith in God, a healthy lifestyle, and the joy of being a blessing to others.
Sister George-Dublin’s monumental impact on our lives and our community will forever be celebrated. Her love and wisdom will continue to guide our paths as we honor her extraordinary life.
The North Caribbean Conference extends heartfelt condolences to Sister Gerene and family. May the peace of Christ, the assurance of His presence, and the blessed hope of resurrection bring comfort in this season of sorrow— “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints” (Psalm 116:15).
