On the afternoon of Sabbath, March 16, 2019, the Children’s Ministries Department of the Peter’s Rest SDA Church, St. Croix, took on the Sunny Isle Shopping Center to share the love of Jesus! Children, parents, staff and the Children’s Ministries Leader, Servet Rogers, had armloads of kindness for all children they met.
Global Children’s Day (GCD), observed on the same date, serves as a day to show acts of service and acts of kindness. With vibrantly colored bags in hand, filled with Bible coloring books, quarterlies and other supplies, the eager and excited children sought out boys and girls (entering or exiting stores, those at the playground, those in parking lots and even those enjoying an ice cream treat) with whom they could share just a little bit of kindness.
At the end of our venture, 82 boys and girls had gladly received a small token to remind them that Jesus loves and cares about them and that other children on our island do as well!
