Pastor Desmond James, President of the North Caribbean Conference (NCC), announced a slate of new employee assignments, effective September 1, 2021, as well as staff departures and additions.  As Pastor James indicated, these assignments for the new term will remain in effect until the NCC Session of August, 2022. “We are glad to have committed servants who are mission- focused join us in ministry, here in the North Caribbean Conference,” said Pastor James.

Mrs. Delia King, who had served as Business Manager of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) Seventh-day Adventist School since May, 2015, was voted Auditor of the North Caribbean Conference. “I am very grateful to God for this opportunity to serve. I am ready and willing to serve,” Mrs. King told Administrators and staff of the North Caribbean Conference during a virtual worship service on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

Mrs. King has a BBA degree, with a major in Accounting and a minor in Human Resources.  She also holds a MBA degree, with a specialization in Finance. Mrs. King has a passion for excellence and always strives for the best. She is quiet, easy to talk to, loyal, deeply spiritual and committed to God. She displays a remarkably high caliber of Christian ethics.

Mrs. King is the Children’s Ministries leader and Assistant Treasurer of the Road Town Seventh-day Adventist Church.   She is also the Assistant Children’s Ministries Coordinator of the BVI.   “Children have a special place in my heart,” she said. She is married to Michael Raphael King from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, which is also her birthplace. He is a long-standing radio technician who currently works at a Christian radio station in the BVI.

The NCC family is also pleased to welcome a new addition to its ministerial complement – Pastor Danhugh Gordon and his wife, Patrice. He was appointed Radio Station Manager of The North Caribbean Conference Broadcasting Corporation (WGOD).  Pastor Gordon is skilled in radio and television production and has been instrumental in growing ministry in his homeland, Jamaica and, most recently, in the Bahamas.

His wife Patrice is an educator and renowned public speaker within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.  They are the proud parents of two college-age daughters, who attend Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama.   Pastor Gordon has been in ministry for more than twenty (20) years – the last eleven (11) were spent in the Bahamas.  He has been described as a valuable worker, dedicated pastor, community-minded leader, committed spouse and father, and a responsible person.

Adjustments were also voted for NCC departmental and office staff portfolios.  Dr. Vincent A. David has been assigned the additional duty of Family Life Director; Mrs. Linda Ambrose now has the responsibility of Health Director; and Pastor Oscar Sanchez is the first NCC Assistant Treasurer.

At an impressive retirement ceremony, the NCC bade farewell to Mr. Mervin Rogers, who retired after forty-three years of dedicated service as Teacher, Business Manager, and, lastly, Auditor. “We wish him good success as he detours into retirement.  We deeply appreciate his invaluable contribution to the organization,” said Pastor Desmond James.

During the ceremony, other office and pastoral staff members also confirmed their decisions to exit the stage of active ministry – may God’s blessings continue to attend their endeavors.
