Position/Title: Director

  • The overall Leadership: Management and Administration of Seventh day Adventist School Sint Eustatius
  • Definition: Development and prioritizing of educational services aligned with the Adventist Education Philosophy and the vision for our children
  • Management: Co-ordinating and evaluating of school services deliveries. Oversees all school personnel, curriculum implementation and programs
  • Planning: Development and implement organization polices and the board of management directives.
  • Authority: Exercising a high degree of initiative, professionalism, shared responsibilities and independent judgement within the policy framework of the institution.
  • Evaluation: Willing and open to collective ideas yet understand that subjection to review by an administrative superior, through discussions and written reports is health to organization ethos.
  • Motivation: Inspired and driven by the potential of the institution and making sure the audience feel involve.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate ideas and feelings paramount to the objectives of the institution.

Education/Experience

  • Considerable experience in the field of Education and training as evidenced by the possession of a Master’s degree in an appropriate field, from a recognized University.
  • Training in Education Leadership, School Based Management System and Administration, or related areas.
  • Proficiency in English language & with and understanding of the Dutch language
  • Knowledge in maintaining education quality through the quality framework developed by the Dutch education Inspectorate for Dutch Caribbean region.
  • Minimum of two years as Head of an Educational Institution, or as Vice-Principal.
  • Experiences in Human Resources responsibility or advance training in HR.
  • Experience in Adventist Education at a leadership level.
  • Be SDA Teacher Certified.
  • Preferably of the Seventh-day Adventist beliefs

What We Offer

  • Salary conform function scale 12 ranging from a minimum of USD 4,517 to a maximum of USD 5,924 per month, based on a 36-hour workweek, increased by 12.1 % equalization/Statia allowance. Salary placement is determined by knowledge and experience;
  • Holiday allowance (8.33% of annual income);
  • 13th month salary (8.33% of annual income);
  • Vitality allowance;
  • A pension scheme administered by the Caribbean Netherlands Pension Fund (PCN).
