Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant works in harmony with the principal to ensure the smooth, and effective operation of the school. The orderliness and efficiency of the school’s Administrative Assistant will tell in the daily operation of the school. There are numerous functions to be performed by the administrative assistant. The school’s administration, the teachers, the students, and the parents, will interact with the administrative assistant. In most cases the administrative assistant is the first contact that many of the patrons have with the school. The impression given is important and can decide the future direction of the relationship of the patrons to the school.
The evidence of the Christian graces and attributes must be seen in the life of the school’s administrative assistant.
Essential Functions:
- To type letters, reports, forms, statements, and all other assignments required by the Principal, pertaining to the work of the school.
- To file letters and other documents.
- To give information to patrons concerning school regulations relating to school calendar, registration, fees, uniform, etc.
- To answer the telephone and to make telephone calls for the business of the school.
- To arrange meetings and take notes as directed by the Principal.
- To follow the schedules and general principles outlined in the school’s handbook and the NCC Employees’ Handbook.
- To perform other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.
Education/Experience/Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Studies or Office Administration, or adequate experience in the area of office administration as deemed appropriate by the School Board and the Conference Board of Education.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- A minimum of two years’ experience working in an office environment.
- Must be a baptized Seventh-day Adventist in good standing.
